A Ukrainian drone strike set a fuel facility ablaze in Russia's Rostov region on Friday, hours after US President Donald Trump announced a landmark agreement with Russian President Vladimir Putin to ease diesel sanctions.
The governor of the Rostov region said more than 50 drones were intercepted during the attack. No injuries were reported.
Earlier on Friday, Trump announced that Russia had agreed to immediately supply more than 300,000 tonnes of diesel to US and global markets. The stated aim of the deal is to reduce fuel prices ahead of November's midterm elections.
The agreement marks a significant reversal of US policy. Washington and its allies had previously imposed successive waves of sanctions on Russia over its invasion of Ukraine.
No further details on the terms of the arrangement were immediately available.
