Israel marked the third anniversary of the October 7, 2023, Hamas attack on Wednesday, with memorial ceremonies held across the country.

Families and survivors gathered at dawn at the site of the Nova music festival, where more than 300 people were killed. Attendees observed a moment of silence and paid tribute in front of portraits of festival-goers and security forces who died that day.

The Hamas-led assault targeted Israeli border communities in multiple locations. Almost 1,200 people were killed in total, while 250 were taken as captives to Gaza.
