Pope Leo XIV drew enormous crowds to central Paris for an open-air Mass at Place de la Concorde, in what has been described as a major moment of his visit to France.

Crowd estimates varied between sources. One report put attendance at more than 500,000, while another placed the figure at around 800,000 people gathered in the heart of the French capital.

The Mass at Place de la Concorde drew worshipers from across the country and beyond, reflecting the scale of public interest in the papal visit.

Pope Leo XIV also made a pilgrimage to Lourdes, one of the most significant Catholic shrines in the world. Thousands of worshipers welcomed him there ahead of prayers at the Grotto of Massabielle.
