American rapper Macklemore announced on Monday that he has been dropped from Ed Sheeran's US stadium tour following pro-Palestinian remarks made during a concert.

The Grammy-winning artist said "Free Palestine" during a September 4 performance in New Jersey. His removal from the tour came after pressure from venue owners, including New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft, over his criticism of Israel's actions in Gaza.

Macklemore made the announcement himself, stating he had been removed from his role as the tour's opening act.
