At least four Palestinians have been killed and several others wounded in a series of Israeli strikes across the Gaza Strip, according to medical sources and civil defence officials.

Three people were killed in attacks on Saturday, while a fourth died of injuries sustained in a strike the previous day.

An Israeli drone struck a civilian vehicle in the Sheikh Radwan market area of Gaza City on Saturday, killing one person and wounding at least four others, including two children, according to Gaza's civil defence agency.

The vehicle caught fire and burned for an extended period before rescue crews could extinguish it. One body arrived at al-Shifa Medical Complex burned beyond recognition.

"The vehicle was targeted by at least one drone missile. The fire just engulfed the vehicle for at least half an hour until the ambulance, the paramedics, or the civil defence crew had to be called up," a correspondent reporting from Gaza City said. He added that the body was "charred completely."

The correspondent also said Israeli reconnaissance aircraft, attack drones and quadcopters had been hovering "at a very dangerous low level" across the Strip since the morning.

Earlier on Saturday, in the az-Zahra neighbourhood west of the Jabalia refugee camp in northern Gaza, an Israeli drone strike killed Basir al-Bursh, the eldest son of Gaza's Ministry of Health director general, Munir al-Bursh. Another person was seriously wounded in the same strike.

Basir al-Bursh was rushed to hospital having already lost significant blood and was pronounced dead on arrival.

In video obtained by sources, Munir al-Bursh was seen carrying his son's body, wrapped in a blanket, as it was rushed to hospital by ambulance alongside other mourners.

"I was with him in the tent, and he said, 'Dad, they will target us, you and me together.' I said, 'That is fine, we will go to heaven together.' He went outside the tent, and they struck him, and he was martyred, may God have mercy on him," al-Bursh said in the video.

According to reports, the strike occurred while students were attending classes at alternative learning spaces set up by local organisations near a field hospital in the area.

"He was struck as he left his tent ... he was leaving the tent when he was struck by a drone missile directly," a correspondent said, describing the scene as "quite graphic."

The Health Ministry issued a statement saying its leadership and staff "extend their deepest condolences and most sincere sympathies to our esteemed brother and dear colleague Dr Munir Abdullah al-Bursh on the martyrdom of his dutiful eldest son, the young man [Basir]."

No statement from Israeli authorities explaining the strike had been issued at the time of reporting. Sources noted that such attacks on the families of officials are typically followed by an Israeli justification.

Also on Saturday, one person was killed when Israeli forces struck the Shujayea neighbourhood east of Gaza City, according to a source in the ambulance and emergency services.

A Palestinian girl died of injuries sustained the previous day from Israeli gunfire north of the Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza, al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir el-Balah announced. The same hospital reported that a woman and another person were wounded by Israeli gunfire east of the Maghazi refugee camp, also in central Gaza.

Israeli attacks on Gaza have killed at least 1,390 people since a United States-brokered ceasefire between Israel and Hamas was announced in October 2025.

Since the start of the conflict in October 2023, more than 73,910 people have been killed and 174,914 wounded, according to reports.

UNICEF said last month that, on average, one child is killed per day in Gaza. The agency also reported that Palestinian families are now confined to roughly a third of the enclave, sheltering among destroyed buildings, rubble and uncleared waste.
