Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi declared on Sunday that there is no military solution to the ongoing war with the United States, as diplomatic efforts appeared to stall.
Speaking to foreign ambassadors and diplomats in Tehran, Araghchi warned that the era of "wasting time and dictating demands is over" and called on Washington to reach a "dignified diplomatic solution" to end the conflict.
The remarks came as the United States has scaled back direct military strikes in favour of increased economic pressure on Iran.
Iran's attempted blockade of the Strait of Hormuz remains a point of contention between the two sides.
A UK maritime agency reported that another tanker had been struck by an unidentified projectile, adding to tensions in the region's vital shipping lanes.
